Home Health Aide- Job Description
Location: Indianapolis and surrounding counties
Job Type: Full time/Part time/PRN
Summary: The Home Health Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals who require support in their homes. The primary responsibility of this position is to help clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers.
- Administer medication as directed by the healthcare team.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the client’s condition.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client’s health or behavior.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
- Valid Home Health Aide certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if required).
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move clients with or without assistance.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
- Visual and auditory acuity.
Working Conditions:
- Home care setting, including private residences.
- May involve exposure to clients with various health conditions.
